Response to Ombudsman Investigation into the Citys Below Market Rent (BMR) Program
April 4, 2013
"our complaint was not just about the increase in our rent but also about how poorly city staff communicated with service providers during the information gathering process" says the Alliance. We contacted the Ombudsman office with the hope that that an impartial and comprehensive review could take place. We applaud, recognize and are extremely satisfied with the results of the investigation as it brings accountability and transparency to the City's Below Market Rent Program.
We absolutely agree with the 22 recommendations made by the Ombudsman and are prepared to work with city staff to rectify our situation not just for the 1652 Keele Street Community Alliance but for all Below Market Rent Tenants across the city.
