Volunteering is the most fundamental act of citizenship and philanthropy in our society. It is offering time, energy and skills of one’s own free will. Volunteers play a dynamic and active role in providing and supporting the delivery of WomanACT’s programs and services.
WomanACT values the work and dedication of volunteers. Volunteers are an integral part of fulfilling WomanACT’s mission. The assistance of volunteers enables WomanACT to increase the quantity and quality of services offered. Volunteers provide additional expertise and the opportunity for increased community involvement. You enable WomanACT to better serve those living, leaving, gaining support or services. You effect change within the organization as individuals and a team.
You area an important link between WomanACT and the people who make up the communities we serve.
Volunteering provides many great opportunities to enhance our skills and grow. As a WomanACT volunteer you will be able to keep up-to-date on the latest information about domestic abuse; meet and socialize with some very interesting people; learn and develop new skills; pursue specific interests; work in a friendly and supportive environment; become involved in artistic and creative activities; participate in events, meetings, and WomanACT volunteers are a valuable resource.
