Position:                Survivors Working to Prevent Violence in the Workplace” Project Coordinator

Function:               The “Survivors Working to Prevent Violence in the Workplace” Project Coordinator will work to develop a training to be delivered to local workplaces.
                                The Project Coordinator will develop and co-facilitate this training sessions with members of the Women Voices for Action Committee, which is the committee made up of women survivors currently working with the Woman Abuse Council of Toronto.

Responsible to:   Executive Director
Hours of Work:   Negotiable, some evenings hours will be required.
Contract Length: August 1st, 2011-January 31st, 2012 (24 weeks)
Salary:                 $25.00 per hour, 12 hours a week.

 

Specific responsibilities:

  • Work in collaboration with the Executive Director, the Women Voices for Action members and other key stakeholders to prepare the Workplace Violence training portfolio.
  • Co-facilitate  training for approximately 26 VAW agencies during the fiscal year 2010-2011
  • Prepare and facilitate presentation to key stakeholders, including but not limited to Council and Committee members.

Qualifications:

  • Equivalent to a University Degree or other relevant academic discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of workshops and groups.
  •   Ability to deliver culturally sensitive services in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word, e-mail and the Internet; ability to maintain a positive approach and a professional manner at all times
